You can easily get around downtown Pittsburgh on foot, but if you don't want to walk, travel on the bus or subway (known as the "T") between downtown stops is free between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for buses and 24 hours a day for the "T", seven days a week. The Free Fare downtown zone includes stops within downtown Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle. Discount fares are available for short rides between Downtown Pittsburgh and the North Side or South Side.
